Dublin:

Dublin:

FOR the Christmas period and possibly the new year, there are roadworks and temporary lights on the N1 at Julianstown, north of the Balbriggan bypass. Drumcondra Road will have work outbound, with severe delays expected. Traffic in the evening peak time will not be affected, but drivers going to the airport should allow extra time.

A new road layout with two lanes is in place from Blakes Cross, southwards to Lissenhall dual carriageway, with no right turn exiting at Turvey junction.

Roadworks are in place on the Sandyford Road approaching the Enniskerry Road.

Roadwork and footpath works will be in place outbound on the Malahide road and similar work will affect outbound traffic in Coolock village.

Kildare:

Roadworks are in operation in Kilcock until next Sunday.

Limerick:

Until the end of Christmas, there will be temporary lights and roadworks on the N69 in the Mungret and Clarina areas, causing delays.

Roadworks on the N7 Limerick/Dublin road from Sallymount to Daly's Cross will be in operation over Christmas, with single-lane traffic from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Friday, and from 8 a.m. until 4.30 p.m. on Saturday.

There is no through road from Athlunkard Street to Baal's Bridge via Sir Harry's Mall. Access is limited to business and residential traffic.

Cork:

The Glanmire bypass will be closed from the Dublin road/ Midleton intersection at Dunkettle to its junction with the old Cork/Dublin road at Killydonoghue from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 26th.

Waterford:

Roadworks and temporary traffic lights are in place on the main Dungarvan road about five miles east of Dungarvan at Pike Hill, until Christmas from 7.45 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Leitrim:

There are realignment works on the N16 Sligo/Enniskillen road about four miles west of Manorhamilton until the end of the year. Speed restrictions are in operation.

Roscommon:

Traffic on the N4 Dublin/ Sligo road is being diverted on to the new road over the Curlew Mountains. Traffic is diverted north of Boyle town and there are temporary traffic lights. The bypass is now partially opened from Forest Park outside Boyle, linking to outside Ballinafad, where drivers should watch for dangerous bends.

Galway:

Due to building work at the NUI in Galway, the entrance on the Newcastle road has been closed with all traffic now entering via University Road for the next 12 months.

There are roadworks on the coast road from Galway to Oranmore for the next few months.

Donegal:

Until 1999, work on the Donegal bypass will continue, with temporary traffic lights on the N15 just north of Donegal town. Drivers need to exercise extreme caution in the area.

There are roadworks on the Donegal Road at Letterkenny.
