The film Veronica Guerin won the award for Best Film at the 2003 Irish Film and Television (IFTA) awards ceremony at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin, at the weekend. The film, which was voted for by the public, starred Cate Blanchett and was directed by Joel Schumacher.

The Best Actor award went to Colin Farrell for his role in SWAT in the public vote and Andrew Scott won the jury's vote for Best Actor in a Film for Dead Bodies.

Angelina Ball won the Best Actress in a Film award for her part in Bloom.

The Best Supporting Actress in television and film was Ruth McCabe for Any Time Now and the Best Supporting Actor award was won by David Wilmot for Intermission.

The TV Personality of the Year Award went to Miriam O'Callaghan of RTÉ. It also won the award for Best Current Affairs for the Prime Time programme called Cardinal's Secrets.
