Washington - The United States said yesterday it would retaliate against Belarus if the Belorussian authorities persisted in attempts to force the US ambassador out of his residence in Minsk.
Workers under orders from the Belarussian government welded shut the side gate to the US ambassador's residence in a residential complex to prevent him from entering. The government wants him and other diplomats to leave the complex because it needs repairs.
