Two injured in attacks

The RUC in Belfast is investigating two separate attacks last night.

The RUC in Belfast is investigating two separate attacks last night.

A 24-year-old man was shot in the calf at the rear of Mount Vernon Park in Fort William shortly before 7 p.m.

Earlier, at about 6.30 p.m., a 24-year-old man was beaten with sticks at Stanfied Row in the Markets area. He received two broken ankles.

Both men were said to be stable in hospital.
