It might not have been quite the right date but the guests at last night's TOTTS - Trick or Treat for Temple Street - Ball got well into the Hallowe'en spirit. Arriving at O'Reilly Hall in UCD, guest of honour Bertie Ahern, TOTTS' chairwoman Valerie Meenan, and MC for the night Pat Kenny, were greeted by ghosts and ghouls along with their champagne.
The ball, which aimed to raise over £50,000 towards meningitis research and an MRI scanner, was also attended by Canadian ambassador Michael Philips; Tony and Robyn O'Reilly, who is a member of the TOTTS committee; TV personality Gloria Hunniford and singer Finbar Furey. Simon Ensor of Sherry Fitzgerald auctioned a number of items including that leather jacket, given to Bertie by Sylvester Stallone.
