The Taoiseach will be making nine official trips abroad from now until the end of the year.
Mr Ahern will visit Scotland on June 20th, followed by a visit to Iceland on June 25th.
On June 26th, the Taoiseach will attend a UN General Assembly Special Session on HIV and AIDS. From July 17th to 25th he plans to go to Brazil and Argentina on an official visit.
On September 13th-14th he will be in the Czech Republic.
New York will be his next destination from November 8th to 10th to accept an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Ireland-US Council for Commerce and Industry.
He will also be attending European Council meetings in Gothenburg, Sweden, on June 15th-16th; in Ghent, Belgium on October 19th; and in Laeken on December 14th and 15th.
The Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Ms Harney, will be making five trips abroad.
She is currently on the first, leaving yesterday for Oman and the United Arab Emirates on an Enterprise Ireland trade mission, returning on May 9th. From May 18th to 21st she will go on another Enterprise Ireland trade visit relating to the software sector to Milan, Italy.
On June 22nd the Tanaiste will go to London for a Dion Grant reception. This will be followed by a visit on July 5th-6th to Switzerland.
Finally, from August 29th to September 7th, Ms Harney will be in Australia on an Enterprise Ireland trade mission.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Cowen, will be making six visits abroad in May, five to Europe and one to Beijing where he will attend a foreign ministers' meeting. Until the end of the year he will make 13 visits to Europe.
Other Ministers will make visits to Europe. The Minister for Finance, Mr McCreevy, will attend mainly Ecofin meetings and in October go to the annual meeting of the World Bank and IMF in Washington.
The Minister for Justice, Mr O'Donoghue, apart from European trips will go to Durban, South Africa, for a UN World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance from August 30th to September 7th.
Visits abroad by other Ministers are concentrated mainly on EU meetings. The Minister for Health, Mr Martin, may also attend the World Health Assembly for Mental Health in Vancouver, Canada, in July.
