Cause of death of Irish student in London still unknown

Patrick Halpin found dead on roof in Leicester Square

A postmortem on Patrick Halpin (18), the Galway student found dead on a roof in London last week, has failed to determine his cause of death.

The examination of the body of the Loughrea-born teenager, who died while on a short college trip to London, was undertaken at Westminster mortuary, according to the Metropolitan Police.

“The postmortem was unable to establish the cause of death. They are now awaiting the results of further tests,” a police spokesman said.

Mr Halpin was found on the roof of a Burger King on Leicester Square on Thursday, February 6th. He had become separated from DCU friends in the Zoo Bar on Bear Street shortly after midnight on Wednesday.
