A 62 year old retired labourer on sex charges dating back more than 25 years was unable to attend Cookstown Magistrates Court yesterday for a preliminary inquiry because, the defence said, he was in a nursing home recovering from a stroke.

Mr John Francis Coyle, of Lindsayville, Ballyronan, Mngherafelt, Co Derry, was remanded on continuing bail for a further two weeks.
