The Minister of State with responsibility for nuclear safety, Mr Joe Jacob, has renewed his call for the Sellafield nuclear power plant to be closed after it was confirmed its operators are to be prosecuted by the UK Health and Safety Authority for failing to improve safety management structures.
Mr Jacob said: "It serves to underline my repeatedly voiced concerns regarding the safety culture in operation by BNFL and justifies my demands for the closure of the Sellafield plant."
