MOSCOW - Russia has said that the latest talks involving its Foreign Minister, Mr Yevgeny Primakov, and the NATO Secretary General Mr Javier Solana, on the alliance's planned eastward expansion have been "positive" but differences remain. A four line joint statement released by NATO's press service in Brussels late on Sunday said: "The negotiations are proceeding positively. Both sides are attempting to bring their positions closer and will continue their discussions."
Moscow and NATO have been in dispute over the plans for the alliance to invite in new members at a July summit in Madrid.
