Pope John Paul yesterday called for courage on all sides to secure peace in Northern Ireland on the eve of the resumption today of multi party talks.
The Pope told pilgrims gathered in the courtyard of his summer residence south of Rome yesterday that the Protestant and Catholic communi"ties both desired an end to violence. "They have given proof that peace and reconciliation are possible if everyone has the courage to embrace the path of dialogue, mutual understanding, respect for the legitimate rights of each person and, above all, human rights", he said.
