Six of the seven cases relating to assaults on Kilkenny hurling star P.J. Delaney were adjourned to October in Thurles District Court yesterday.
The case of Mr John O'Meara, Childers Park, Thurles, was withdrawn.
The other six cases, on which five men and a juvenile are accused, relate to an incident outside a hotel in Thurles in September 1999.
The cases were adjourned at the request of Garda Insp Bernard O'Neill, who applied for more time to prepare the book of evidence.
Two of the men are summonsed on the count of intentionally or recklessly causing harm. They are: Mr Michael McCarty (Junior), Galboola, Littleton, Thurles, and Mr Peter McCarty, Cabra Bridge. They were also summonsed on the count of violent disorder. Mr John O'Donoghue, Beechwood Lawns, Thurles; Mr Philip McCarty, Cabra Court, Thurles; Mr Peter McCarty, , Cabra Court, Thurles and a juvenile were also summonsed for committing violent disorder.
