LONDON - Drinks giant Pepsi made history yesterday when it filmed the first TV commercial in space. The firm joined forces with the Russian Mir space station as two cosmonauts filmed a 4ft by 2ft replica of Pepsi's new blue can from a spacewalk 200 miles above the earth.
The commercial, reputed to be the most expensive ever made, is the latest move in a £327 million advertising drive by the company which persuaded Air France to paint Concorde blue and cajoled a national newspaper into being printed on blue paper for a day.
