A senior Irish trade unionist and peace campaigner, Mr Chris Hudson, of the Communications Workers Union of Ireland, was awarded an MBE by Queen Elizabeth in the Birthday Honours List. Mr Hudson, who has been one of the joint chairpersons of the Peace Train Committee for many years, said the honour was more a recognition for the work carried out by all peace campaigners than simply a personal honour for him.
