Employment in private firms with five or more staff in the construction industry was up 0.5 per cent in October 2003 by comparison with October 2002.
The monthly employment index increased from 131.6 in October 2002 to 132.2 in October 2003.
The annual increase in employment was 0.5 per cent for September 2003.
