New safety measures to protect staff at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, following attacks by loyalist paramilitaries, will be disclosed this week.

Senior management, union representatives and a senior RUC officer met yesterday in an attempt to halt assaults following an attack in which six workers were injured and others received death threats from a group of men claiming to be Loyalist Volunteer Force members.
