LONDON - Eighteen minutes of film which were cut from the Howard Hawkes classic 1946 thriller, The Big Sleep, have been found in archives, the Times reported yesterday.

Hawkes was known to have cut 18 minutes from his original version to allow more room to develop the romance between Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.
