Monaghan today withdrew a motion to amend Rule 42 at Saturday’s GAA Congress at the Burlington Hotel, Dublin.
Clare are now the only county with a formal motion on changing the rule following Kildare’s decision to withdraw support last night.
Motion three from the clár centres on Rule 42 - a proposal regarding the opening up of Croke Park to other sports.
Monaghan officials believe debate on the controversial issue should be deferred until the proposed Special Congress later in the year.
