London - The Mayor of London, Mr Ken Livingstone, said yesterday he will not seek re-election as a member of parliament but would seek another term as mayor, saying he loved running the capital city of seven million.
Although he thought he could probably manage both jobs, "being an MP is not really a job for a grown-up", Mr Livingstone said. "I'm finally having a job where I'm taking decisions again," he said. "I realise how unsatisfying being an MP is. It's all right if you're 25 or 35 and you may one day be a minister. But once it's made clear to you that you will never get any farther, you are tending to look around for things to do."
