A man in his 50s was shot in the leg and hit with a sledge hammer during an attempted robbery in Co Armagh last night.
Two masked men armed with a shotgun and sledge hammer tried to gain entry into the man’s house at Rock Lane, Lurgan, shortly before 10pm.
His injuries are not said to be life threatening.
It is believed the men escaped in a red Audi A4 stolen from Dromore, Co Down earlier in the evening.

A girl in her late teens and a girl of primary school age in the house at the time were not injured.
