A man was being questioned by the RUC yesterday following the discovery of explosives and a rifle at a house at Priory Road in Dungiven, Co Derry.
The search started at just after 3 a.m. A number of houses in Priory Road, on the outskirts of the town, were sealed off by the security forces. Inside one of them police found an AK47 rifle.
A further search of the house turned up two explosive devices, one of them a Mark 16 horizontal mortar and the other a projected improvised grenade. All the items were examined by forensic officers.
