A 29 year old Finglas man jailed for three months last week after being convicted of cruelty to three dogs who had become so hungry they began to eat a fourth, was freed on bail yesterday pending an appeal of his conviction.

William Hynes, of Dunsink Avenue, Finglas, Dublin, was jailed for three months and fined £1,000 for ill treating the dogs at his home last July 24th.

In the Dublin District Court yesterday he was granted bail in his own bond of £250 with an independent surety of £800.
