Man charged with Dublin murder

A Dublin man has been charged at the Dublin District Court with murder.

Aidan Byrne (33), St Mary’s Mansions, in Dublin’s north inner city, was shot several times as he was sitting in the passenger seat of a Toyota Corolla at Drumalee Avenue off North Circular Road on February 20th last.

Det Insp Nicholas McGrath, of the Bridewell station, told Judge Miriam Malone yesterday that John Douglas (25), O’Devaney Gardens, Dublin, was arrested on March 11th, at 9.13pm.

Det Insp McGrath applied for him to be remanded for a week in custody. Legal aid was granted.

Judge Malone remanded Mr Douglas in custody until next Friday when he will appear at Cloverhill District Court.
