reported today.

White House communications director Mr Dan Bartlett, calling the use of models to satirise the Bush teenagers "disrespectful," said that Talk"has openly opposed and even mocked the first family's desire to keep the lives of their daughters private, and have decided not only to report on it but go to great lengths to distort it.

"It gives us plenty of concern and reason not to participate in the type of so-called reporting they are conducting."

Talkeditorial director Ms Maer Roshan said the fashion shoot was merely "in good fun ... a little bit cheeky but also affectionate.

"People should have a better sense of humour about it, especially in the administration."

The photo spread in the issue out in the US tomorrow does not name Ms Jenna and Ms Barbara Bush, who were arrested for underage drinking in May.

But the two partying models are flanked by a George Bush lookalike and Secret Service agents, along with such captions as Grand Ol' Party, Arrested Development and - in the jail scene - Compassionate Conservatism? You're Grounded.
