A newly refurbished Limerick church, which was opened and blessed a few weeks ago, was vandalised at the weekend.

Corpus Christi Church, Moyross, suffered severe fire damage two years ago and was closed for repairs. Vandals broke into the church in the early hours of Sunday morning and a stained-glass window valued at around £2,000 was broken. Another six windows were also broken.

Supt Tony Kennelly of Henry Street said he was confident that those responsible would be apprehended.
