Liga withdraws product over unclear instructions

LIGA HAS apologised to customers after a recall of its product in order to clarify feeding instructions on its packaging.

LIGA HAS apologised to customers after a recall of its product in order to clarify feeding instructions on its packaging.

Jacob Fruitfield Food Group, the distributor in Ireland, has recalled Liga Original from the market “as a precautionary measure” to change feeding instructions for babies aged six to nine months. “We are extremely sorry for any inconvenience caused but believe this is the safest course of action, however slight the risk might be,” the company said. Liga Original advises that the product is safe to feed to babies aged over nine months either as a dry biscuit or mixed with a liquid, but for babies aged six to nine months, the product is only suitable if first mixed with liquid such as milk or fruit juice and should not be fed as a dry biscuit.

There are no risks for babies who have already consumed the product and no other Liga products are affected.
