An Alliance councillor, Ms Jayne Dunlop, has welcomed a decision by loyalists to call off their protests outside the Catholic church in Harryville, Ballymena, Co Antrim.
Ms Dunlop said there had been little support for the protests, which resumed five weeks ago. This showed that "the majority of Ballymena people are not interested in such acts of intimidation", she said.
