Tehran - A German businessman, Mr Helmut Hofer, who had faced the death penalty for alleged illicit sexual relations with an Iranian Muslim woman, has been freed on bail. Mr Hofer was sentenced to death last year for having sex with a 27-year-old unmarried medical student.
