Gardai are seeking witnesses to a hit-and-run incident near Gormanstown, Co Meath, early on Sunday. A Dublin man in his 20s who was walking from Tallaght to Gormanstown received serious leg, arm and head injuries after being knocked down by a car that failed to stop.

The incident happened at Sarsfieldstown, Gormanstown, at about 4.25 a.m. Ai from Drogheda arrived they found the man lying on the grass verge. He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda. A spokesman for Drogheda gardai said it's it was believed the car involved was blue and any witnesses are asked to contact gardai at 041-38777.
