FSAI closes two food businesses in May

Two businesses were closed last month because of breaches in food safety, the Food Safety Authority (FSAI) said today.

Two businesses were closed last month because of breaches in food safety, the Food Safety Authority (FSAI) said today.

Closure orders were served on Central Supermarket, 8-9 Moore Street, Dublin 1, and on Bilal Irish Meat, Meenwaun, Five Roads, Banagher, Co Offaly. An order was also served on Bilal's premises at 79 Queen Street, Dublin 7.

Closure orders are served when it is deemed, upon inspection, that there is, or there is likely to be, a grave and immediate danger to public health.

Details of the food businesses served with these orders are published on the FSAI's website and remain there for three months.
