Two men died in a two-vehicle road crash which occurred in Co Donegal at about 10.10am this morning.

The collision occurred at the junction of Slab Rd, Burt, on the main Letterkenny to Derry Road.

Two men, aged 55 years and 24 years, who were in one of the cars were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and sole occupant of the second car was taken to Letterkenny hospital where she(59yrs) is described as being stable.

Also in Co Donegal, a pedestrian (60) died after he was struck by a vehicle in Carraig Airt at 7.40pm last night.

The pedestrian died on his way to hospital while the occupants of the vehicle were uninjured.

In County Laois, a 26-year-old man has died following a crash on the M7 about 15 miles north of Portlaoise at about 08.20am today.

The driver of the car died was pronounced dead at the scene and his body taken to Portlaoise hospital.

The road has been closed for a forensic examination and diversions are currently in place. Traffic traveling southbound is being diverted up the slip rd at Junction 17 onto the N7.

Separately, a man (37) died after his tractor crashed in Co Down in the early hours of this morning. The incident happened on the Banbridge Road in Dromara.
