The Football Association of Ireland has come in for heavy criticism in the Genesis report into the Saipan World Cup fiasco which led to the departure of Roy Keane from the Republic of Ireland's squad, according to reports in a Sunday newspaper.
A considerable amount of the criticism contained in the report, commissioned by the FAI, is already in the public domain.
It highlights the absence of training gear, footballs, isotonic drinks and medical equipment in Saipan and describes the Republic's preparations as under-resourced in comparison to the build-up of other nations.
The report focuses on the FAI management rather than on any single individual and highlights organisational shortcomings in a number of key areas, according to the Sunday Independent.
The FAI is to hold a board meeting on Tuesday, where the main findings of the report will be formally presented, followed by a media briefing.
The five-man officer board was shown the report at a meeting in Kilkea Castle, Co Kildare yesterday.
The report was commissioned as an independent examination of the debacle and the circumstances which led to the tensions between then manager Mick McCarthy and then captain Roy Keane on the Pacific island of Saipan.
There will be no comment from the FAI until the report will be officially released on Tuesday.
