Manila - Former president Joseph Estrada and his wife sued the Philippine military intelligence chief for libel yesterday over allegations that they had amassed millions of dollars from organised crime, including drug trafficking.

The Estrada couple asked for 20 million pesos £400,000 in damages from Col Victor Corpus and the editors of the Philippine Daily Inquirer newspaper, which published the allegations.
