The search, and the Government didn't find it at all easy, for a chairman of the Forum on Europe ended this week with the announcement that Maurice Hayes has taken on the formidable task. Fine Gael is not participating, but there was still much consultation with Labour and the Greens. The Greens found John Bowman acceptable but not Peter Cassells whom they maintain was pro-Nice. Another name on the list was Declan Kiberd.
