Some 1,300 students from 21 schools attended the Careers Expo event organised by Schools Business Partnership run by South Dublin Chamber of Commerce. Schools business co-ordinator David Magill thanked all those who helped make the Careers Expo event happen.

"By creating closer links between education and the workplace students will have the skills the marketplace needs when they enter the workforce," he said.

The partnership is still looking for more companies to join the project to match the growth in school membership. So far 41 companies are formally involved, but the partnership hopes to extend into schools in Lucan, Walkinstown and Kimmage next year.
