French defender Marcel Desailly said he is uncomfortable with his new position as Chelsea club captain for next season.
"The decision came from the fans and the coach, but I would have opted for an Englishman," he told French daily

"I'm not comfortable enough, I don't speak the language well enough to be as efficient in that role as I am with France," he said after France's 1-0 win over Denmark in a friendly international yesterday.
Desailly, who captains world and European champions France, took over from Dennis Wise who has moved to Leicester City.
But Chelsea manager Claudio Ranieri said last month England's Graeme Le Saux and Italian Gianfranco Zola would act as club captains off the pitch.
