The national council of the Irish Dental Association decided last night to recommend a new Government offer to settle the four-week-old strike. The ballot is expected within three weeks.

Under the offer, dentists are to be paid the same fees for treating medical card patients as those from the PRSI. There will also be improved access to services for medical card patients.
