A stamp being issued by the UN to mark World Autism Day is to feature the work of an Irish artist, writes Fiona Gartland.

Colm Isherwood (25), from Cork, who has autism, was one of only eight people from all over the world whose work was chosen to feature on the stamps.

His work was selected after he applied for a competition organised by the United Nations Postal Administration, which has post offices in New York, Vienna and Geneva.

He was the only artist to be chosen outside the United States and Canada.
