We're all familiar with outrageous and sometimes wonderful Christmas displays around neighbours' houses and front gardens, and this year is no exception.
Some go to great lengths to heighten a sense of festive fun in their locality for these dark December days. Some have great taste; others perhaps less so.
Some guarantee themselves headache electricity bills in the New Year.
The Irish Times is offering you the chance to nominate your favourite festive fantasia with a prize of five tickets to Cinderella at the Gaiety Theatre, Dublin, on January 3rd next.
Closing date for photographed entries is noon on Thursday, December 20th and the winning picture will be published along with a selection of other entries in a gallery on irishtimes.com. The winner will be notified that day and the tickets will be held at reception so the winner can pick them up.
