A compensation claim against a Catholic religious order by a man who claimed he was sexually abused as a boy was settled in the High Court in Belfast yesterday.

The action arose out of alleged abuse at Rubane House boys' home at Kircubbin, Co Down, in the late 1970s. The home was run by the De La Salle Order and was closed several years ago.

The case was brought by a man, now aged 35, who had been a resident in the home, against one of the brothers.
