It would be "premature" to drop Ryanair's proposal for a second civil airport for Dublin at Baldonnel until a feasibility study was carried out, it was claimed yesterday.

Mr Tadhg Kearney, chairman of the Air Transport Users Committee, said that while Aer Rianta had done a good job at Dublin Airport, it was a monopoly and "competition is good for the consumer".
