Fifty-four applications have been made to the Western Development Commission to date for funding under the Western Investment Fund. The Minister for Agriculture, Mr Walsh, has told the Dail that of these 54 applications, four have been approved for assistance, totalling £450,000. These projects are in counties Sligo, Leitrim and Galway. Nine projects have been refused funding.
