An annual bat meeting and walk takes place this evening from 7-9pm at Dromoland Castle in Co Clare. The event includes an outdoor talk and expert introduction to Irish bats. It’s suitable for all the family although children must be accompanied. The event is free. Tel: 061-428409

The Erris branch of Comhaltas is holding its final seisiún of the summer tomorrow night in Áras Inis Gluaire in Belmullet, with special guests Nicgaviskey and a host of musicians, singers and dancers. Tickets €10/€5. It starts at 9pm.

OPERA IN THE OPEN

The final performance of this summer series of free opera shows takes place tomorrow at the amphitheatre at the Civic Offices in Wood Quay in Dublin city at 1pm, with Mozart's Don Giovanni. dublincity.ie

ROBERT MALLET EXHIBITION

A commemorative exhibition takes place all this week in the RDS library in honour of an Irish scientist who made huge strides in the spheres of volcanology and seismology. The event is free and runs until Friday, from 10am until 5pm. Tel: 01-2407217
