Bray househunters will be interested in the launch this weekend of the first 42 houses at Giltspur Brook, a development of 97 two and three-bedroom houses at the southern end of the town.

Prices are from £129,500 for a two-bedroom townhouse of 730 sq ft to £153,000 for a 1,020 sq ft three-bedroom semi-detached on a large corner site. Agent Ross McParland say the completion dates are expected to be from early June to October this year. The location of the Giltspur scheme, off Boghall Road, with feeder bus access to the DART, close to the N11 and within sight of the Wicklow mountains will be a draw.

In addition, the Swan river meanders through the ten acre site and builders Townpark Estates have preserved the existing sycamore, horse chestnut and alder trees to create a wooded area in the centre of the development.

The houses are half brick with cream coloured rendering and have harmonising roof tiles. The Willow is a two-bedroom townhouse of 730 sq ft at £129,500. There is an entrance hallway with guest cloakroom and a kitchen/diningroom to the front of the house. The sittingroom is to the rear, with a corner fireplace and patio doors to the garden. The front bedroom is the full width of the house, with bedroom two and the family bathroom at the rear. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and tiling is standard in the kitchen, en suite and family bathroom. Back gardens are a minimum of 33 ft long.

The three-bedroom house, the Sycamore, has similar layouts for both semi-detached and end-of-terrace units. There is a wide entrance hall with guest cloakroom. The sittingroom has a bay window and double doors to a big family room/diningroom which extends the full width of the house. The kitchen has Shaker-style units and a generous breakfast area. A conservatory off the diningroom is available with the three-bedroom houses for £5,000 extra. There is a family bathroom and three bedrooms upstairs, two with fitted wardrobes and the main is en suite. Outside, gardens are fenced and there is a larger than average amount of open space, including the preserved woodlands, on the development.
