The Irish Property Show this weekend moves to Cork City Hall where a major exhibition on the property industry runs from tomorrow until Sunday. Opening hours will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow and from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The exhibition will cover both commercial and residential properties for sale and for lease on the Irish market, as well as holiday homes in Spain and the US. Companies offering advice on finance, legal issues, tax incentives, insurance, property management and lettings will be available to answer queries.
Architects will also be on hand to offer advice on house designs. They will be in a stand taken by the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) to illustrate the value of good design. The Planning Department of Cork Corporation will advise on planning applications. A novel item will be the sale of extra-terrestrial real estate with the proceeds going to the Simon Community in Cork. Prices start at £10 per 100 acres. Interest in the Cork property market has grown in recent months with many investors taking the view that values are likely to rise significantly over the next year or two. One Dublin-based agency recently opened an office in Cork and another is to start a branch office there later this year.
A similar exhibition in Dublin's RDS last weekend was very successful for most of the exhibitors, though the attendance was lower than expected because of the bus strike. The shows have been organised by Anchor Events, in conjunction with The Irish Times.
