Longtime stalwart of Ganly Walters joins Sherry FitzGerald

News has reached the Block that residential property agent Roseanne de Vere Hunt is on the move. A longtime stalwart of Ganly Walters, de Vere Hunt is moving to Sherry FitzGerald in early December where it’s understood she takes up a position as associate director of country homes.

There she’ll join David Ashmore on the “Big House” beat working on its Christies Great Estates portfolio (and presumably more modest country homes too).

It will be a big departure, as de Vere Hunt has worked with Ganly Walters for the past eight years, spending the first four in its country homes division, and the latter half working on high-end residential sales in the Dublin market.

Known for her professional low-key approach, de Vere Hunt was behind two recent high profile Dublin sales – Brockly in Monkstown for €2.78 million and Emsworth in Kinsealy for €1.425million.

Country sales will make a natural home for de Vere Hunt who hails from Tipperary and is an avowed lover of all things pastoral, in particular the equestrian life. She won’t be alone in this regard as she joins Ashmore at Sherry FitzGerald, also a keen horseman.

It’s good to see a bit of movement among agencies, a small signal maybe of a return to a functioning market where the potential for upward mobility exists. The business has long been characterised by agents cutting their teeth in one place, gaining further skills in another and in some cases spreading their wings and going it alone.
