CAROL SPILLANE AND SHANE FAHEY, both from Naas, Co Kildare, were married in Our Lady and St David’s Church in the town by Fr Bill Holmes, a friend of both families, who travelled with many others from Tipperary for the day.
Carol is the daughter of Irish Army officer Patrick Spillane and his wife Marie. Her sister Sharon, also serving in the Irish Army, acted as bridesmaid, along with Shane’s sisters Fiona and Caitriona.
Shane is the son of Patrick and Susan Fahy and chose his three best friends from school, Paul O’Connell, Richard Roche and Anthony Greevey, to be his groomsmen, and all set a high standard with witty and well-prepared speeches, according to the groom’s uncle, Gerry Molumby, originally from Tipperary but now living in Nottingham.
After a reception at Kilashee House Hotel, with dancing into the early hours, the couple went to California for their honeymoon.
