AILBHE MALONE ponders the Amelia Lily latex factor

AILBHE MALONEponders the Amelia Lily latex factor

TRACK OF THE WEEKShut Up (And Give Me Whatever You Got) by Amelia Lily

Who would have thought that this is the way turbo-warbler and X Factor star Amelia Lily would go? Produced by Xenomania, it’s a synth monster, topped with Clarkson-level vocal belting. Been dying for a look into the day to day life of Nicki Minaj? Yearn no longer. The Pink Friday rapper has just made a three-part reality show about her life for E! “I guess what will most surprise a lot of people who may not be die-hard fans who haven’t known me for a long time is the honesty,” she explained. “I’m not trying to have a façade. I’m showing exactly what goes on in my life. I think people will be surprised at seeing that.” Over-sharing, however, really isn’t her thing. “I’m such a private person, it was a bit hard. When I’m around my circle I just kind of loosen up. You’ll see by the first episode that I didn’t care that the cameras were on.” We wonder if Roman and Martha pop up too.

As she promotes her new album Red, Taylor Swift continues to plough her love life for interviews, telling Boston’s NPR radio that “with love, it’s going to be wrong until it’s right. So you experience these different shades of wrong, and you miss the good things about those people, and you regret not seeing the red flags for the bad things about those people, but it’s all a learning process.” Lucky for her though, she’s been able to work through all her life lessons in song. “Being 22, youre kind of in a crash course with love and life and lessons and learning the hard way, and thankfully, I’ve been able to write about those emotions as they’ve affected me.”
