Kilkenny Arts Festival has always catered well for children but this year, through the help of a new sponsor taxback.com, it goes even further by offering kids free tickets to shows and workshops.
The line-up includes theatre productions from Italy and Spain, storytelling sessions, workshops for all ages and a screening of the animated film The Secret of Kellswith the directors in attendance. Shows to catch are Run, Run, The Little Goat and The Wolf (on today and tomorrow); Bedtime, a tale about imaginative sleepovers, on next Saturday and Sunday; and the interactive performance Sticks and Stoneson Sunday. Renowned storyteller Liz Weir will be telling tales next Wednesday at the Heritage Council new headquarters, and you can partake in dance workshops in Kilkenny Castle. Another plus is that the city's nice to be in and everyone can enjoy the historic venues.
