While on names, The Margin was intrigued to hear Fine Gael TD Enda Kenny take a line from his Oireachtas colleague Liam Lawlor, when seeking the post vacated by his pal John Bruton.

Never one to be outdone by a ex-Fianna Fail man in crisis, Mr Kenny adopted Mr Lawlor's mannerism of ditching the word "I" in favour of using his own name.

Mr Kenny was thus heard to utter statements such as "Enda Kenny is a man of integrity".

That is not doubted. But if any more TDs adopt the Lawlorism, observers could be forgiven for thinking the Dail is a house for people with split personalities.
